'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Re-Building Begins At Crewe Alexandra

Steve Holland is set for talks with one transfer target as the Alex start preparing for next season.

The team may still need one more point from the last two games to be absolutely assured of League One football next season but first team coach Steve Holland and Technical Director Dario Gradi are both now looking to strengthen for the 2008/2009 season.

Dario Gradi and chief scout Glyn Chamberlain have already taken in games at the likes of Stockport, Stevenage, Accrington Stanley and Barnet this past few weeks as they do last minute checks on summer targets.

Whilst the season may still have two weeks left to run, Steve Holland is already planning talks with potential signings.

We have been granted permission to speak to one player in relation to next season and we are keen to bring in a few players that could make a difference to us next season.'

The Alex haven't been linked to too many players although Barnet's Albert Adomah and Stevenage's Steven Morisson are said to be two of many potential signings this summer. The Dutchman though has outlined what he wants added to the team in the summer, telling the official site:

''We are looking at the goalkeeping position and would like a centre forward of some stature. There are one or two new possibilities there that we have been able to highlight recently. They could be in our range.

''I would also like a winger with a good track record of scoring goals and maybe an athletic midfielder, who could also add some goals from that area''

Whilst there will be plenty of names looking to arrive, there could be just as many going through the exit. The likes of Ben Williams, Eugen Bopp, Mat Bailey, George Abbey and even Nicky Maynard could leave the club one way or another this summer.
