Abbey and Maynard In TOTW

George Abbey and Nicky Maynard have been named in the Football League's Team of the Week after their performances at Yeovil Town. Abbey helped keep the club's 12th clean sheet in the back four whilst Maynard scored twice in the 3-0 win. The young striker now has eight goals in his last six games and despite missing the first half the season he is already almost certain to finish the season as the club's top scorer.

The named team also includes Port Vale's Krystian Pearce and Leeds' Dougie Freedman.

Team of the week: Mark Bunn (Northampton Town), George Abbey (Crewe Alexandra), Anthony Gerrard (Walsall), Krystian Pearce (Port Vale), Kevin Lomax (Oldham Athletic), Paul Green (Doncaster Rovers), Jonathon Howson (Leeds United), Sean McDaid (Doncaster Athletic), Chris Taylor (Oldham Athletic), Dougie Freedman (Leeds United), Nicky Maynard (Crewe Alexandra)

It really was a super result for you. No Swansea player even though Bauzza scored 2 which sent them up. Very strange.

Great result for you and a great chance of beating the drop!
will it ever happen
credit to maynard but i wish he wasn't in it beacuse it just publicises him even more and generates press about a move

I don't think it makes a difference, Maynard has proven in the past he is a quality finisher so teams will be sniffing round him whatever.

If he scores in the next two games he'll be player of the month. Mind you, could be a curse. Jason Scotland scored in every March game, got player of the month and has now failed to score in his last three!

Yeah great result for you, Maynard's goals were very impressive!
