Welsh Set For Gresty Road?

Steve Holland looks to be on the verge of strengthening his midfield further, with Hull City's John Welsh rumoured to be in the frame. The former Liverpool midfielder, once dubbed the new Steven Gerrard, has struggled for games with the Championship club and seem likely to loan him out before the loan window shuts next week.

Welsh has struggled for games at Hull since signing in January 2007. A broken leg in March of the same year left his season in tatters and has failed to cement his place in the team this season. In January he spent a month on loan at Chester City.

The move, if true, would maybe spell the end for our own Gary Roberts, who this week saw himself disciplined by the club for a 'training ground incident'.

Welsh, 24, has a similar style to have of Steven Gerrard and plays through the middle.
