Abbey To Start Against Vale

George Abbey is set to start tomorrow nights game against former club Port Vale after being rested for Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest.

Steve Holland has admitted Abbey wasn't dropped on Saturday but rested on the proviso that he would start against his former club on Tuesday night.

Holland also said he would have played Abbey on Saturday but was concerned about his short-term fitness by playing two games in a week.

Danny Woodards will be disappointed to drop out of the team after a solid performance against Forest, though Abbey deservedly deserves to keep his place after steady showings in recent games.

Abbey will no doubt be hoping to get one over on his former team and local rivals in a massive game for Crewe at Gresty Road tomorrow night.

He's a decent player is George, one that we should never have let go. Obviously there was some bad feeling between him and foyle as he didn't figure in the second half of last season. Good luck to him.

Done well for us, very steady defender. Surprised Woodards is being dropped though, he didn't have the best of games on Saturday but he is by a mile our best player. Who plays on the left wing for Vale? Is he any good?
Dink.
Who'll play out on the left for us? Good question! Might be Danny Whitaker, might be Paul Edwards, could even be Kyle Perry! Take your pick. I suspect it'll be Whitaker starting there.

Defensively I thought Abbey was poor but he did look good going forward. Give me the quality of Dave Mulligan anytime!
