Roberts Returns To Ipswich

Loanee Gary Roberts has returned to Ipswich Town, but Crewe still hope to extend his loan deal. The winger was ruled out of tomorrow's home game against Forest with an apparent achilles problem, and with his loan spell due to expire on Monday Roberts has returned to Portman Road.

The management are still hopeful of extending the deal, despite the injury. Ipswich are stalling due to fitness concerns over their current left winger Alan Quinn but Steve Holland hopes to have an answer next week.

The Railwaymen have already extended the loan of Kenny Lunt to the end of the season, and hope to do the same with Patrick Boyle, currently on loan from Everton.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have strengthened their forward line ahead of tomorrow's game. Preston striker Brett Ormerod has signed on loan and is set to start up front.
