'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Williams Heads TOTW

Despite recent fan criticism, Ben Williams has made it into this week's League One Team of the Week. The 23 year old 'keeper was in brilliant form as the Alex fought for a point at Northampton this weekend, and the Press Association, who choose the team, took notice.

It's fair to say that Ben has generally been in good form all season but whilst the odd schoolboy error slips into his game weekly, there will always be doubts cast over his worthiness of the number one spot.

It was revealed last week that Ben has decided to snub a new contract at the Alex, instead waiting till the summer to see if any other offers crop up.

Williams was joined the Team of the Week by former Alex target Sam Vokes, who scored twice for Bournemouth over the weekend, and also former loan target Lee Holmes from Derby, who is currently impressing on loan at Wasall.

Full Team

Ben Williams (Crewe), Lynch (Yeovil), Tate (Swansea), Roper (Walsall), Jacobson (Bristol Rovers), Butler (Swansea), Stock (Doncaster), Howson (Leeds), Holmes (Walsall), Kandol (Leeds), Vokes (Bournemouth).
