Guy Deal Unlikely

Steve Holland doesn't believe that Colchester United's Jamie Guy will agree to sign on loan. The deal hit a hitch today when Holland was told that Guy's partner is due to give birth and that it's unlikely that Guy will be willing to move away from the area at this time. Guy is also recovering from a recent injury, meaning he's not quite match fit.

It's just another blow for Holland, who seems to have worked tirelessly in the past couple of months to bring in a new front man, but failed on every front.

Holland told crewealex.net: 'We have declared an interest in Jamie Guy at Colchester but that one is complicated for various reasons. He has picked up an injury and his partner is expecting a baby. That one does look unlikely, but we think he would have fitted the bill.'

The Alex have also been linked to West Brom's Polish striker Bartosz Ślusarsk, but it looks as if Holland has also failed in that too. Ślusarsk, who West Brom signed for £600k in the summer, looks to be heading elsewhere.

He's a good prospect, and I'd like him to come down to you guys because he needs games and experience! He's always going to have a fan following, being a local lad!
