Woody Back For Cobblers Clash

Danny Woodards has been given the all clear to line up against Northampton Town tomorrow, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

The 24 year old has been in fine form all season, and without doubt on course to be named Player Of The Season. However, his recent groin injury, which has kept him out of the last two matches, looks to have cost him his place to summer signing George Abbey. The former Vale full back has done a good job stepping in at right back and Steve Holland thinks players should have their place in the team on merit.

Holland told crewealex.net: 'George Abbey has come into the side recently and does not deserve to be left out on current form. It is the same with Chris McCready, who has lost his place to Daniel O'Donnell.'

'I think it is important for any player in the squad to realise that if they get a chance and take it then they deserve to keep their place.'

So tomorrow's team looks set to be unchanged from the last few games. Do you agree with this? Should our best player be left out of the side?
