Steve Holland was left rueing what could have been after Nicky Maynard's opener was cancelled out in the dying minutes at Leeds United today.
The Alex looked about to take all three points away from Elland Road but a controversial free-kick allowed Leeds United to snatch a point, and it's left first team coach Steve Holland feeling disappointed and, like fans, gutted.
Holland told crewealex.net and Radio Stoek: 'It feels like a defeat at the moment because I thought we created enough good chances to win the game. I thought we were relatively comfortable. We were pushed back but they didn't create too many clear cut chances.
'We conceded a soft free kick. I didn't think there was a great deal in it if I'm honest. When the cross has come back in, Ben has come for the cross to try and punch it clear but didn't get there. If you come and don't get it then you have to take the blame. He was the hero at Orient but today a slight misjudgement has cost us a goal and perhaps all the points.
'It is unfair to criticise Ben because he still made some superb saves and caught some dangerous looking crosses.'
The Alex now sit back inside the relegation zone after other results failed to go our way.
